About
Christopher Biehl has been the Associate Director for Programs for International Partnerships (PIP) since 2008. Chris’s responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the office, including working closely with the Director on financial and management matters. Chris is also actively working on building partnerships with organizations outside of China, as well as developing customized short-term training programs for international universities and organizations on the UIC campus. New students to our programs may first meet Chris when he visits them in their home countries to interview them for admission to a contract-based program, while evaluating their English language ability. Prior to joining PIP, Chris was a part of the UIC Office of International Services, as well as holding positions at Clemson University, the American International School in Salzburg, Austria, Georgetown University, the Soros Open Society Fund, and the US Defense Language Institute. Chris has lived in the US, Austria, Poland, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Chris received his BS in Public Relations and Political Science from Illinois State University and his MA in Applied Linguistics from UIC.
